Recent changes have been made to HIPAA with an aim to strengthen concern for privacy for patient information. Business parties and other providers are mandated to observe strict confidentiality and are to be held fully accountable. This has been balanced with consideration for healthcare cases when such records have to be disclosed like student immunization schedules for schools. It is, therefore, looking to cover up loopholes while taking into consideration the volatility of digital information. The Ominous rule is specific in protecting confidentiality and integrity of the healthcare but gives room for safe practice.
